At The Blyth School, Community College Dance is an integral component within the creative arts, contributing to the social, physical and aesthetic development of our students. As students work together, they learn about tolerance and co-operation and develop an understanding of the shaping of movement into artistic forms of collaborative expression. Dance provides aesthetic and cultural education and introduces students to a wealth of traditional, social and theatrical forms. Students learn how to create, perform and appreciate dance.
Opportunities are sought for our students to interact with industry professionals by introducing guest artists to enrich and inspire as well as multidisciplinary collaboration to use dance as a vehicle for enrichment within other subjects.
All students have the opportunity to take part in extracurricular classes as well as taking part in performances within school and the local community.
