In year 9, we help students to develop personally and academically. We help them to get on with other people and encourage them to work hard. We track their academic progress. We recognise and reward achievement, good behaviour and good attendance. We all work together so that year 9 is enjoyable and successful.                                                         

Until the end of year 9, all students study the same curriculum. Year 9 is important as a stepping stone into choosing and studying GCSE subjects. The core subjects are compulsory. Some GCSE subjects will be new but they will have already experienced others. The choice occurs towards the end of year 9. Most GCSE courses start in year 10 but a few begin in year 9.

Y9 Students need to select the Subjects which they will follow through Key Stage 4.

Come along to the Options Evening to talk to subject staff about the Courses that are available.
