Eden Camp 2011

Year 4 trip to Eden Camp On 10th March 2011, Y4 travelled to Yorkshire to visit Eden Camp so we could learn more about WW2.

At Eden Camp we went into 25 huts which were used for prisoners of war. Each hut showed different features of WW2. There were also Spitfires, AA guns, Russian Tanks and Torpedoes but they were outside.

I wish I could time - travel back to Eden Camp because it was so cool. Eden Camp was good fun but it was educational, too.  -Kieran Turnbull

Eden Camp

On the Thursday 4th March year 4 went on a trip to Eden camp. At first we had a snack to keep us going to dinner time. In one of the huts it was a submarine. In the submarine hut the floor moved. The floor moved to feel like a reel submarine. In the middle of the day we went to a puppet show, everybody enjoyed the puppet show. At the puppet show we got wet off the puppets! In one of the huts there were lots of houses in the middle of the night when it was black out. Black out means that all of the houses have no lights so the German people could not see where to go. I was  in Mrs Craigs group. After we went into a hut we went to the park. Out side there was a garden  and a house. In world war 2 time they did not have very much food because the Germans bombed our ships with the food that was in the boat so they grew their own food in their gardens. Food was rationed. In the house we saw all the things that they had in their houses. In one of the huts there was a person cooking.
