Morpeth Road Primary School provides a large amount of After school clubs to help the pupils to develop their skills in a relaxed and controlled environment.
Breakfast Club
The first club in the morning is the Breakfast club where the children can come together in a nice friendly atmosphere have something to eat and do some extra work before they start school. This is held each Morning.
Computer Club

The Computer Club is held on a Monday Night and it is designed to help the children to use Microsoft Word, Powerpoint and Publisher. We design posters cards spreadsheets and also we teach the chidren Internet safety. It is held in a relaxed environment and the Club is always full with a long waiting list
Steel Drums

Available to all pupils and parents and staff are welcome too.Ran by Mrs Hewison and Claire Suckling. We meet in the Toddler Room on Thursdays between 3.25 and 4.15pm Children are invited to come along to steel pans and if they wish they can bring a parent along too to join in the fun! Cost is £1.00 per person.
Basketball Club

Basketball club runs each and every Monday after school between 3:15pm and 4:15pm.
Each session consists of….Small warm up. A re-cap on all the rules that the children have remembered from the last session. Any new rules of the game that need to be taught.We then have around 40 We minute’s too have a full match with two teams. (we also try to get the children to incorporate any rules we have learned during our sessions.
Chime Bar Club

Teacher – Miss Greenaway Day – Tuesday after school Time - 3.15 – 4.15 Chime bar club has been a great success last half term. We have learned and played a range of songs from ‘twinkle twinkle’ to ‘Frère Jacques’. We hope to play Frere Jacques at the schools opening day!
First Aid Club

My name is Mrs Palamountain and I run the First Aid Club on a Wednesday after school. We cover a range of things from when to make a 999 call, recovery position, choking to stopping a severe bleed and staying safe. At the end the children will be getting a certificate to say they have attended a First Aid Course. This week we even had great fun doing special effects, which ranged from black eyes, cuts and bruises, which gave some of the teachers a shock as they thought it was real. We have some very good makeup artists, Hollywood watch out!
Ballet Club

Fencing Club
Available for Y3, Y4, Y5 and Y6 pupils
We meet in the hall on Wednesdays between 3.15 and 4.15 pm where we learn new skills and compete against each other. Coaches from Premier Sports help us to have fun and learn at the same time. Cost is £3.00 per week
Zumba Club
Zumba is a great FUN way to get fit as it combines Latin and International music with a fun and effective workout system. It includes a combination of Merengue & reggaeton, Salsa, Cambrian & Cambo Music from all over the world
Pupils and staff meet in the school hall on Thursday evenings 3.15 – 4.15pm where Louise from Blyth Valley Arts and Leisure puts us all through our paces.
Dance Club

Available to Y5 and Y6 pupils
We meet in the Toddler Room on Mondays between 3.15 – 4.15pm
Different tutors from Blyth Valley Arts and Leisure teach different styles of dance each half term E.g. Street, hip hop, modern etc.
Cookery Club

Available to Y4 pupil Cookery club aims to teach children how to cook low cost healthy food. Children can either eat their food at school or take it home. We find it very interesting to see how many staff pass by the technology room while we are cooking, hoping to get at taste!
Miss Dent, Mrs Laws and the children meet on Mondays between 3.15 and 4.45pm in the Technology Room.
Book Club
Chidren who read for pleasure are most likely to succeed-in Literacy but also accross the curriculum because in the way which reading develops the ability in abstract. In the book clubwe read together and explore lots of stories, poems and information books. We make things, act out roles and do experiments from the books we have shared. READING IS FUN!!!
Chess Club

This Club is run in a very relaxed way at lunch time in Mr Bells office and has been a very successful club. We went into a Tournament with a few of the Partnership Schools and won almost every one of the matches. One of our gifted children even beat one of the teachers from another school.
Buskers Club
In buskers club we sing and play popular songs in a variety of ways. We have played in front of the whole school (An audience of over 200 people!!) and hope to busk in public places soon. We have boys and girls from years 3, 4, 5 and 6 in buskers club and this gives us a beautiful rich singing sound. Most of all though buskers club is a fun place to relax and have a sing after school!
